Money Follows Attention

Have you heard that expression before?

Money follows attention?šŸ¤”

The first time I heard it was from Vince Delmonteā€¦

And it has always stuck with meā€¦

Because after he said it, I couldnā€™t help but see examples of this principle at play everywhere.

Take cable news for exampleā€¦

They want to keep you watching 24/7 so they can sell more advertising inventory (and charge higher rates)ā€¦šŸ“ŗ

So they go with the most sensationalistic headlines and stories whenever they canā€¦

Because the goal is to captivate and hold your attention…šŸ˜³

Since that means more money for them.šŸ’²

copywritingWell, it turns out the same thing is happening in sales copy too.Ā

I mean we always talk about attention grabbing headlines and leadsā€¦

And the reason why is because this is your chance to grab the prospectsā€™ attention and ā€œsuck them in.ā€

If you capture their attention early on, then hold itā€¦

The prospect is much more likely to pull out their wallet at the end.

Because money follows attention.

And this also is true when it comes to personal brands as well.Ā

Everyone used to bash on Tai Lopez (and some people still do).

Cool.

Yet while we were all busy being hatersā€¦

Tai was quietly building up a nice little subscription business of 100,000 subscribers paying him $100 per month each.

Thatā€™s $10MM per month totalā€¦

And thatā€™s on top of other stuff he had going onā€¦

So I meanā€¦

I donā€™t think the jokeā€™s on Tai here šŸ™‚

And Tai is far from aloneā€¦

copywritingBeing polarizing is often better than being forgettable.Ā

I mean heck, even when I made that post recently where I fired back at the copywriter who'd thrown shade on me (and who said networking is dumb)ā€¦

That got a ton of engagementā€¦

And three people ended up joining Copy Accelerator LITE from the Facebook threadā€¦

Plus, several people bought my RMBC Course.

So that one post ended up making me like $50,000 in the short-termā€¦

And probably way more in the long-run.

Of course, that wasnā€™t my goal with the postā€¦

It was just an unintended side-consequenceā€¦

But that post had drama…

It had me being fired up and cussingā€¦

It got peoples attentionā€¦

And sure enough, money followed.
