Okay, so I LOVE baseball.❤️
It’s by far my favorite sport, and it helps that my childhood team the San Diego Padres are actually very good these days…
And they’re expected to be good for the next 5+ years.👌
Hell. Yeah.😎
Now a big part of why The Padres are so good is because of a player named Fernando Tatis Jr.
He’s 22 years old, has a good shot of being the National League MVP this year, and is so damn exciting to watch.
Hell, he was even on the cover of the main baseball video game this year too…
I can’t even tell you how happy I am to have him on my team…
And one really cool thing about Fernando Tatis Jr is that from his very first game in the Big Leagues…
He’s had SO MUCH swagger.
The dude makes insanely athletic plays, blast devastating home runs, turns game-saving double plays…
He’s just the man.
And here’s the thing…
You can be like Tatis too.
I want you to think about this, regardless of if you’re a freelancer or a business owner:
Tatis made his Major League Debut in 2019…
He won a Silver Slugger award the very next year…
And this year, he has a good chance of being the National League MVP + leading his team deep into the playoffs.
So that’s a two-year time span between his first game and dominating the sport…
And I truly believe that you can have a similar ascendancy in the world of digital marketing and direct response too.
It starts with confidence in yourself.
You don’t see Tatis going around saying, “well, I’ve only been in the league for two years, so I guess I can’t be very good. I guess I’ve gotta put in my dues for the next 10 years. I shouldn’t ask for a big contract.”
Hell no.
The guy has the mindset of a champion…
Which is probably why, this offseason, he signed a $330MM contract, even though he’d played less than two full seasons of ball.
His attitude wasn’t, “I don’t know if I’m ready”…
His attitude was, “I deserve this.”
And that’s how YOU should feel too.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve been doing copywriting for six months, a year from now, or even two years…
I want you to have the mindset of a world-class performer.
That means focusing on your craft and committing to getting better every day…
And it also means seizing opportunities when they come to you…
The question isn’t, “I don’t know if I’m ready.”
You’re ready.
So stop fearing your greatness.
