He Went From Limo Driver to Millionaire Just By Listening To His Clients

copywriting and marketing

Back when I was writing copy for the guys at Lion’s Publishing…

I heard a crazy story.

One of the guys from Lion’s had flown out to a conference somewhere in Eastern Europe…

And once he was there, he and some of his friends in the space hired a private driver to take them around.

Over the course of a few days, they got to know the driver pretty well…

And the driver asked them a lot of questions about what they did for a living and how they did it.

Well, the Lion’s Guy and his friends were an open book…

They shared all of the ins-and-outs of their business, talked about how to launch offers, harped on the importance of great copy, demystified the affiliate game, etc…

And then, just like that, the trip was over and they headed back home.

They didn’t exchange contact info with the driver at the end of the trip…

In fact, once they got back home they quickly forgot about him…

But a year later, when they returned to that same conference…

There the driver was.

Except, he wasn’t a “driver” anymore…

He was an attendee at the conference, and looking to get more traffic for the offer he’d launched…

Which at that point, had already grossed several million dollars in revenue.

The Lion’s Guy and his friends couldn’t believe it…

They LOVED seeing how the driver’s life had changed…

And so over the next few years, they helped the ex-driver to get even more traffic to his offer…

Until before long, he had millions of dollars in his bank account.

I may have conflated a few of the details of this story, because I heard it a long time ago and it was mentioned to me in passing…

But the bones of it are all 100% true…

And there are two awesome takeaways here:

The first takeaway is that the driver deserves all of the credit in the world…

Because he took MASSIVE ACTION.

How many folks do you know who are always making big plans, looking for the next big thing, telling you how they want to change their lives…

But when push comes to shove, they keep doing the same things over and over again?

The driver wasn’t like that. He wanted to change his circumstances and when he saw all these young millionaires in their mid-twenties, who were living a life he’d previously only dreamed about…

He decided “I want that life for myself.”

So he asked questions and gathered information, which is smart…

And then, after that, he actually ACTED on what he’d learned…

And he changed his life as a result.

The second takeaway goes back to the importance of continuously meeting new people and expanding your network.

In the case of the driver, he got a bit lucky…

But this same concept applies just as equally to masterminds and events.

I’ve written about this before, and I’ll write about it many more times:

One of the fastest ways to accelerate your life and achieve your goals…

Is to continuously be meeting people who have already gotten to the places you want to go.

It’s so simple, it’s so obvious, and yet it’s so profound…

You are the product of the people you surround yourself with…

And rather than waste years of your life trying to reinvent the wheel…

It’s so much better to just have a beer with the wheel’s inventor…

And ask him how the heck he did it.
